2019 Highlights- A recap of my year so far
Hey there! It’s fun to talk about highlights. Since we are about 3/4 of the way into the year, I thought I would talk about some of the things that I’ve experienced thus far. I visited a new country (France!), hit some goals for the MJFANGIRL brand, fell in love, and started some really fun projects that I am proud of.

June 25, 2009
2009 was a big year for me.
It was the year I was to graduate from college, the year I would finally embark on real “adulthood,” and thanks to THIS IS IT- the year I would finally get to see Michael Jackson in concert again. First let’s go back to March 2009- specifically when Michael Jackson held a press conference to announce his new series of shows, THIS IS IT.
If feels like yesterday…

On The Wall Exhibition in Paris, France
I’d like to share some things about my most recent “Michael Jackson getaway”- I went to Paris! The trip was a group trip with several fan friends of mine and we made the trip to Paris, France to visit the Grand Palais museum for the “Michael Jackson: On The Wall” exhibition.

What I've Been Up To Lately
On one of my latest videos, I posted a review of King of Style: Dressing Michael Jackson by Michael Bush. He and Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for years and in his book, you will find details about so many of Michael's iconic outfits.

The Animation of Michael (A Series!)
I’ve spoken about the Jackson 5 series on the blog before and talked about how much Michael loved being a cartoon with his brothers in the ‘70s.
“I was already a devoted fan of film and animation by the time ‘The Jackson 5ive’ Saturday morning cartoon show started appearing over network television in 1971… I loved being a cartoon. It was so much fun to get up on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons and look forward to seeing ourselves on the screen. It was like a fantasy come true for all of us” - Michael Jackson.
As an 80’s baby, I grew up watching several animated versions of Michael in shows like South Park, Robot Chicken, and Family Guy. But, I enjoy the features most that involved Michael in the creative process or included his songs in the finished product.
Michael Jackson was a big fan of the art of animation and cartoons in general. He spoke about it in the February 1983 issue of Rolling Stone.

Making Michael Jackson's Thriller- One of My Fave VHS tapes!
A lot of the videos we had back then weren’t even in the best condition. After watching tapes over and over, programs like Moonwalker, Making Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and The Legend Continues, showed some signs of wear and tear. But static and noise never really made a difference to me. It felt like Michael was almost always on TV in our house.

An Ode to Wylie Draper: Remembering the Man Who Played Michael Jackson
I haven’t talked about this much before but, The Jacksons: An American Dream film miniseries was my introduction to Michael Jackson. It planted a seed of curiosity in me about Michael and who he was. After watching it, I remember becoming totally enveloped in learning more about...

Jacksons Legacy Book- Fan Review
This book feels like something I've been waiting for FOREVER.

7 Las Vegas Hotels Michael Jackson Fans Should Visit (Including Mandalay Bay!)
I have always loved Las Vegas. I’m a huge fan of warm weather and sunshine. To be honest, I am not a huge party girl but, I still manage to love the atmosphere of the strip. I’ve had my share of fun but, some of the most fun I’ve had has been following Michael’s footsteps there.

Gratitude- Reflections on a week of Michaeling
The past few days have been somewhat of a whirlwind.
I haven't been sleeping much. I haven't been traveling or preoccupied with work (for once) but, just really busy with enjoying my friendships and "Michaeling".

Looking Back at Michael Jackson’s Dancing the Dream
Michael Jackson considered Dancing the Dream, a collection of his own poems and reflections, to be one of his most personal works. It was also one of the first Michael Jackson collector’s items I’ve ever purchased. When I realized that this was the 25th year anniversary of the books publication, I wanted to share some things about it.

GUEST POST- Searching for Michael Jackson by Rachel
After having read mjfangirl’s post (about how to see 5 Michael Jackson related places in LA), I was inspired. As a longtime Michael Jackson fan and not having seen him perform live (which I don’t love to remind myself) I decided to take her advice and go on a road trip to seek out some magical Michael Jackson energy.

Why every Michael Jackson fan needs to rewatch the short film for Leave Me Alone (NOW!)
Selected as Michael’s 8th best music video by Rolling Stone magazine, “Leave Me Alone” was the only short film for which Michael would receive a Grammy award in the Best Music Video, Short Form category (1990).
